Why Vorialis
Not because they don't care — because a collective bargaining agreement is written like a legal document, cross-referenced across side letters and past practice, and usually lives as a PDF nobody opens until something's already gone wrong.
Why we built this
Contracts run long. Answers shouldn't have to.
Vorialis is built by union members, with input from members across industries — police, nurses, nursing assistants, and electricians among them — who all kept hitting the same wall: a question they needed answered now, buried somewhere in eighty-plus pages of dense language. So they did what everyone does — they asked a rep. But every union runs on a small handful of people who always seem to know the answer, and getting asked the same questions over and over, week after week, wears them down. Vorialis exists to take that weight off the reps carrying it, not just to get members an answer faster.
What we believe
An answer with a citation is worth more than an answer that sounds sure. Vorialis is built to say "check with your union rep" rather than guess at something a member will rely on.
Vorialis reads the contract your local provides and reports back to your local. It's not building a shared model out of anyone's grievances or bargaining strategy.
Every feature exists because it replaces something a union rep or bargaining committee was already doing by hand, slower and without a paper trail.
If a contract governs your working life, understanding it shouldn't require a law degree or a favor from someone who already read the whole thing.
